The Association of Secondary Heads in Essex comprises all secondary and special heads throughout the county. Organised into areas, there is the facility for all Heads to be engaged in discussion and to influence developments at a local level. Each area nominates a convenor who meets on a regular basis as the Council. In turn, the executive group of the Council involving Chair, Vice Chair, past Chair, Secretary and Treasurer meet half termly with the Head of the Schools' Service to discuss issues of mutual interest. Regular conferences are held to ensure business items are properly shared and to engage in developmental activity. The association is proud of its independent voice whilst also highly valuing the significance of effective collaboration.
